Stars of Teatro Flamenco Sevilla shine bright in the Jerez Flamenco Festival

Ana Salazar, Julia Acosta, Alberto Sellés and Manuel Montes in Jerez

Teatro Flamenco Sevilla stars shine in the Jerez Flamenco Festival

The Jerez Flamenco Festival is an unmissable event in the flamenco calendar, where some big names in the flamenco world meet up to delight audiences with their passion and skill. This year, in the 28th edition of this prestigious event, four of Teatro Flamenco Seville’s regular flamenco performers have shone bright: Ana Salazar, Julia Acosta, Alberto Sellés and Manuel Montes. Their performances have been a real treat for all the flamenco fans attending the event and they have received high praise from the flamenco press.

Ana Salazar: Versatility Made Art

As we well know at Teatro Flamenco Sevilla, Ana Salazar is an all-round flamenco artist who captivates with her voice, her dancing and her unique stage presence. In the Jerez Flamenco Festival, Ana demonstrated once again why she is one of the most prominent performers in the flamenco world at the present time. Ana moved the audience with her flawless performance, from the depths of the toná style of her flamenco singing to the grace and strength of her flamenco dancing. Her performance was an outpouring of talent and passion that left the audience wanting more.

Julia Acosta: Eternalising Lorca’s trail.

As a member of the group performing Lorca’s play, “Untitled Comedy”, Julia Acosta, another regular flamenco artist on the stage at Teatro Flamenco Sevilla, has contributed to the further eternalisation of Lorca’s legacy in the Jerez Flamenco Festival. Her performance in this theatrical work of art is a moving tribute to the genius of the poet and playwright, showcasing the depth and beauty of flamenco in all its splendour. With her grace and skill in flamenco dancing, Julia has managed to capture the essence of flamenco, transmitting the same passion to the audiences at the Jerez Flamenco Festival, as she usually does at Teatro Flamenco Sevilla in Passion, the most popular live flamenco show in Seville.

Alberto Sellés: The Flow of Characters

In the flamenco piece, The Flow, the choice of the dark staging and costumes may be interpreted as a declaration of depth and mystery. Although some might consider it affected, the choreographers, Estévez and Paños hope to demonstrate with their work that the authenticity and quality of a product triumphs over superficial appearances. In this context, black comes to represent spiritual nakedness, adding a layer of meaning which goes further than the visual. Alberto Sellés, through his flamenco dancing, interprets a variety of characters representing the wealth and diversity of flamenco. With his skillful performance, Alberto has created a captivating flamenco show which explores the different facets of the flamenco identity and culture. His performance at the Jerez Flamenco Festival was a real tour de force that enchanted and excited the audience, something he excels at with his performances of Passion, the daily, live flamenco show at Teatro Flamenco Sevilla.

Manuel Montes: Complicity through flamenco dance.

In the flamenco show, Complices, Manuel Montes invites us to explore the profound connection that forms through dance. His performance in the Jerez Flamenco Festival was testimony to the magic and beauty of this form of artistic expression, creating special moments that only those involved in flamenco can understand completely. With his talent and passion for flamenco, Manuel has proved once again why he is considered one of the most outstanding flamenco dancers of his generation.

The performances of Ana Salazar, Julia Acosta, Alberto Selles and Manuel Montes in the Jerez Flamenco Festival have been a real treat for all flamenco lovers everywhere. Their talent, their passion and their dedication have once again struck the heart of all those who were lucky enough to see their performances, and this has been reflected in the different flamenco reviews.
