Marian Fernández: the young voice that honors flamenco singing
From Granada to the world, Marian Fernández represents the new generation of flamenco with a voice that respects tradition and excites with authenticity
The first steps of an innate passion
From a very early age, Marian showed a natural inclination towards singing. Although an exact moment in which he began to sing cannot be specified, his interest in flamenco was consolidated at the age of 14, when he received his first classes at the Escuela Superior de Arte Flamenco (ESAF). It was in this environment that a dancer recognized her talent and invited her to participate in the Granada Young Flamenco Competition, obtaining the first prize at the provincial level and the second at the Andalusian level.
Artistic training and consolidation
Marian's career has been characterized by a constant search for improvement. After his beginnings at the ESAF, he joined the Vimaambi Art Workshop, where for two years he delved into the songs "back" or dance songs, without neglecting the songs "alante". Her training continued at the Cristina Heeren Foundation in Seville, where she studied with teachers such as Juan José Amador and José de la Tomasa, obtaining a scholarship to study flamenco professionally.
Recognition and international projection
Marian's talent has been recognized at various competitions and festivals. In 2016, he won second prize at the Íllora Mountains Competition and toured Russia. The following year, she won the second prize for granaína awarded by the Cristina Heeren Foundation and participated in a tour of China with the company of Javier Martos. In 2018, she was awarded as "Best cantaora de Granada" and won the second prize at the Andalusian level in the "Flamenco en los Montes" contest in Íllora, in addition to prizes for cantiñas and soleá. That same year, he toured China and Japan, consolidating his international projection.
