In urban dance, some choreographers have integrated flamenco elements into styles such as popping or breakdance, drawing on the rhythmic intensity of zapateado and the power of flamenco movements. In music, too, many rap and trap artists have sampled flamenco clapping, palmas, guitar phrases or even traditional flamenco singing, cantes.

One of the most visible examples of this blend can be found in hybrid performances where hip hop dancers use flamenco movements to tell their stories, creating a new, fresh and deeply emotional stage language.
